How It Works for Teams

One team member writes their personal Top 5 list on any topic — "Top 5 things I'd bring to a desert island," "Top 5 underrated work perks," "Top 5 ways I procrastinate." Everyone else races to guess all five items and earn points.

It's part getting-to-know-you, part friendly competition, and 100% more fun than another round of "two truths and a lie." A full game takes 15–30 minutes and requires nothing but a browser and a link.

Team Building FAQs

What's a good virtual team building game for remote teams?

Top 5s is built for exactly this. It's free, requires no download, works on any device, and reveals real things about teammates. Run it alongside your next Zoom or Teams call.

Can you play Top 5s on Zoom or Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Everyone stays on the video call and opens topfives.io in a browser tab simultaneously. No screen sharing required — the game runs in everyone's own browser.

Does anyone need to install anything?

No. Zero installation for anyone. The host creates a room, shares a link, and participants just click it. Works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on any device.

Is it appropriate for a professional environment?

Yes. Standard mode uses pre-vetted, professionally appropriate categories. The 18+ mode is off by default and requires the host to explicitly enable it — it will never activate during a normal work game.

How long does a game take?

Standard mode runs one round per player — typically 15–25 minutes for a team of 4–8. Perfect for a meeting warm-up, a lunch break, or a virtual happy hour slot.

Can we use custom work-themed categories?

Yes. Any player can type in a custom category during their turn. Pro subscribers can also pre-build category packs with AI — create a "Our Team" pack with inside-joke topics and reuse it for every event.

How many people can play at once?

Free rooms support up to 8 players. Pro rooms support up to 12 — the host just needs a Pro subscription. Participants always join free, no matter what.

Ready to Try It with Your Team?

Free to start, no setup required. Create a room, share the link in your team chat, and you're playing in under two minutes.
